I just don’t have the time

Proverbs 19:21

Many are plans in mans heart but it is the lords purpose that prevails.

Do you sometimes have all this stuff you have to do today and sometime you even get angry or annoyed, because you have so much. I have felt this many many times in the course of my life. I remember in college, when I was doing eighteen credits and two jobs, my day started at 8am and did not get done till 9 pm. Those were stressful times and I most likely would have gone crazier if I did not have my friends to keep me in check.  Have you ever realized that we take advantage of tons of stuff? We take advantage of people, cars, parents, and even God. We get so wrapped up in what we want to do and what will make me have the best outcome, but we don’t look at how can I better serve a God that gives me an actual life worth living for. We fill our lives with pointless things, do we not? We worry about stuff in our lives that we could trust God with, but we’d rather try to get more of a controlled result. I recall back in high school the biggest thing I was worried about was getting a girlfriend. I wanted someone there for me… to hold me, to so called, “love me”, and support me in my decisions. That life consumed my thought process. I was no longer thinking what God wanted, I was thinking if this girl liked me or not. So I dated girls and more girls and more girls and you know what happened? I was still empty. I was still trying to fill a void in my life with temporary stuff that I was wasting my time with. I am not saying being in a relationship is bad, but what I am saying is make sure you are with God in this relationship and you are not filling your life with temporary feel goods.

This is not only in relationships. Sometimes you try to be super busy so you don’t have to think about that void you want to fill. Some of you may say that you’re happy and your life is full of fulfillment, but whom or what you are living for. Have you ever realized that giving a gift to someone feels a ton better than getting one? Sometimes it cringes in your stomach because of how much the gift is and then you finally just buy the gift and give it away. You know that feeling when the person opens it in front of you, you get excited, then anxious if they are going to like it or not, then they open it and you see the genuine smile of thanks. That is part of living for a higher calling. Giving away things you are blessed to other people who may need it a little more than you do. That is part of Gods plan to help and serve people with the actions of being a Christian.

God’s gift is this, we get to live for him.  I know it sounds selfish of God, but think about it this way. If God was not around and did not send his son to die for all the mistakes that I already have and am going to do in my life. I would be walking dead on this earth. So here is my challenge “LIVE FOR SOMETHING BETTER, AND GREATER THEN YOURSELF”  Trust in God to worry about who you are going to marry or how to solve problems in your life, It’s easy.  All you have to do is talk to him and pray. Talk to him like you would talk to anyone else. He is your friend and He loves you more then you realize.  Remember the reasons we can do so much is because of God so thank him once and a while, he likes it.
